Fox News faces another sexual harassment lawsuit

Tantaros’ legal battles with Fox began last winter when the network said she had breached her employment contract by writing a book without getting clearance.

Andrea Tantaros filed the lawsuit Monday in New York State Supreme Court in Manattan. Like Gretchen Carlson before her, Tarantos claims that she was punished for complaining about sexual harassment at Fox News.

Ailes resigned in July after another former anchor, Gretchen Carlson, said in a lawsuit that she was sacked for refusing his sexual advances.

Rupert Murdoch, who owns the parent company of Fox News, has been named in a new sexual harassment lawsuit filed by former Fox News anchor Andrea Tantaros.

Ailes “may have been the primary culprit, but his actions were condoned by most senior lieutenants, who engaged in a concerted effort to silence Tantaros by threats, humiliation, and retaliation, ” the lawsuit said.

Luhn said before she left Fox News she was kept incommunicado at New York’s Warwick Hotel from friends and family under the watch of Ailes and his deputy, Bill Shine, who screened her emails and communications. It goes on to detail interactions that took place in August of 2014, in which Ailes called her into his office and joked with her about the sexual preferences of 10 of her colleagues at Fox News. Tantaros’ attorney, Judd Burstein, declined TheWrap’s request for comment, while Fox News declined to comment on pending litigation. Earlier this month, the lawyer for the former “Outnumbered” co-host told NY magazine that she had informed Fox executive president Bill Shine, senior vice president Suzanne Scott, and general counsel Dianne Brandi about the alleged harassment and made numerous formal reports about it.

Tantaros also recalled once after she and Stacey Dash had clashed on air when Ailes said to her, “I heard you were mean to the black girl”.

Tantaros served as co-host on the Fox News show the “The Five” beginning in 2011.

In it, she alleges that several Fox hosts and guests made unwanted sexual advances or comments toward her, including Brown – a Fox contributor – as well as Bill O’Reilly, Ben Collins, Dean Cain and others.

Yet Shine said Tantaros never complained about Ailes’ behavior to him.

The suit does not list O’Reilly or Brown as defendants. Tantaros’ lawyers have accused Fox News of using the book as an excuse for her termination. The first one to get caught up in this mess is former Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown.
