WASHINGTON, D.C.: Fresh post-debate polls show real estate magnate Donald Trump holding his lead Tuesday over rival Republican presidential contenders, even as he insisted he will “keep the door open” to a potential independent run.

He’s denied that the comment was about her period, saying only a “deviant” mind would make that connection, and that he was actually referencing that time-honoured phrase: “blood pouring out of their eyes”.

The comments came after the feud between the two seemed to worsen Monday when Trump said on MSNBC that he expected an apology from Kelly.

In a move that his controversial for most conservatives, Trump doesn’t want to completely disband Planned Parenthood, just get them to stop performing abortions, citing the other good works that he does.

He has been dogged by a different scandal almost every week since announcing his candidacy in June, most recently grabbing headlines for harshly attacking his opponents, the media and presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Trump has been railing against Kelly since the event, when Kelly asked Trump a contentious question about things he’s said about women in the past.

Trump went on to say he “was asked some very inappropriate questions” at the Fox News debate.

Earlier this week, “The Body” – who has been a member of both the Reform Party and Independence Party of Minnesota – said he’d seriously consider being Donald Trump’s running mate.

Trump takes 16.6 percent support, with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker next at 12 percent. I think that was a bad mistake that he made and I think he’s the one that has to apologize to women.

“Well, I’m not really looking to offend people, Jake”, Trump told CNN’s Jake Tapper in response to the release of the poll. I do whine because I want to win.

In another interview Tuesday morning, Trump was pressed hard on his lack of specific policy proposals, such as changing tax laws, since declaring his presidential run. “That showed such weakness”, said Trump, who vowed that something similar would never happen to him. His campaign has said it plans to unveil new policy plans soon. “It’s typically something we don’t see of presidential candidates”, says American University professor Jennifer Lawless, who is also the director of the university’s Women & Politics Institute.
