Fox News suspending ties with Trump veep possibility Gingrich
“A lot of people who are a little jittery about Donald Trump would feel reassured talking with Pence”, Gingrich said. But some of Trump’s children, who have been closely advising their father, are said to favor different candidates.

Donald Trump is looking for a running mate who can be a “fighter skilled in hand-to-hand combat” to help him parry criticism on the campaign trail, and he has narrowed his list to a handful of seasoned politicians. Trump has said that if Gingrich is not selected, he will have some other role in a Trump administration. Names like former half-term Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie were linked to the campaign, but the most recent reports say that Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich are the final two.
While the network itself made a decision to suspend their working relationship with Gingrich due merely to “the intense media speculation”, others in the know contend it’s more than just speculation.
The move to suspend Newt Gingrich as a political contributor is a common one for politicians who work for news networks. Indiana Gov. Mike Pence had emerged as a late favorite for the job, though Trump said he had not finalized the pick and advisers cautioned he could change his mind. “So, if you’re trying to compete for western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Missouri, Illinois, there’s a certain value to an IN candidate, I think”. Gingrich left a previous contract with Fox News in May, 2011, when Gingrich announced that he would be running for the Republican nomination in 2012.

“I have known Newt Gingrich since 1990 (I emceed his event the night the became Speaker of the House in 1994) he has been a long term, very dear friend of mine and is a private citizen. I have some appeal in virtually every state”, Gingrich said. Gingrich’s presence on the ticket won’t convince Democrats to vote for Trump, but those Democrats can’t be convinced anyway, according to polls that show partisans on both sides are set on who they plan to vote for.
