Foxconn Employee Reveals PS4 Neo Sketch Showing Design Similar To PS4

For those not familiar with it, Foxconn is the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer; it’s responsible for manufacturing devices like Sony’s PlayStation 3 & 4, Nintendo’s WiiU, Microsoft’s Xbox One, Apple’s iPad/iPhone/iPod and even Amazon’s Kindle. While Sony has since kept the Neo under wraps, there has been confirmation of the existence of a new slim version of the PS4, which will reportedly be revealed in the next few weeks. In fact, with superior hardware we expect the Playstation 4 Neo console to be the star of the show, and thanks to an indiscrete worker at the Foxconn factory we now have an idea of that the machine might look like.

One person, who goes by Shortman84 on Twitter, got their hands on both the PS4 Slim and DualShock 4.

Finally, the new controller also has an updated D-pad, with a slope toward its center that Let’s Play Video Games says allows users to rest their thumbs “in a way that makes rolling between directions more comfortable”.

In addition to the network status screenshot, shortman82 also uploaded a photo of what appears to be the PS4 Slim’s manual, and it features a direct reference to the console’s reported 5Ghz capabilities. This is a pretty big jump up from the original PS4 and previous PlayStation consoles that only supported 2.4Ghz.

Anticipation is all time high as we move closer to Sony Corp’s (ADR) (NYSE:SNE) PlayStation Meeting event on September 7. Well, if you’re someone that uses WiFi.

Whether or not Sony wants to admit it, there sure seems to be a growing pile of evidence that the PS4 Slim does indeed exist. Yes the slim has B/G/N/AC wifi.
