France Is Getting a Ten-Story Wine Theme Park
Pack your passport and your taste for wine: La Cité du Vin, or the City of Wine, is Europe’s newest theme park.

The City of Wine – located on the banks of the Garonne River in Bordeaux, France – one of the most famous of France’s wine-growing regions – is a 10-story museum/theme park mashup, aiming to attract 450,000 visitors per year.
National Wine Day may have come and gone, but France (right along with those of you who got/already have adorbs wine tats) is about to make every day wine day with the opening of a wine theme park. “The unusual architecture of the grounds is supposed to imitate the motion of wine swirling in a glass” – “a seamless curve, intangible and sensual”, the press brochure published by La Cité du Vin said.
The City of Wine aims to provide a varied cultural experience has a 250-seater auditorium for performance, concerts, screenings, conferences and debates. Its 23 rooms will offer visitors the opportunity to take “a tour of the vineyards of the world”, with the history of winemaking civilisations revealed through exhibits of 85 winemaking countries. The tour will be available in 8 different languages, including English. There will also be multiple tasting areas, educational workshops, and multiple food areas, including a restaurant with panoramic views of the grounds.

La Cité du Vin – which is housed in a stunning structure that puts Disneyland to shame – also has two restaurants on-site., while the other boasts 800 bottles of wine from around the world and some special-seeming tapas.
