France, others hit by terror may face more screening

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has warned countries like France that he says are compromised by terrorism may be subjected to the “extreme vetting” he proposes to deter attacks in the US. “It’s their own fault because they allowed people to come in their territory”.

During his interview, Mr Trump also took issue with descriptions of his convention speech as “dark”.

He said: ‘There are specific problems in Germany and we have problems with France. Duke said of the Trump campaign, “Get off your rear end that’s getting fatter and fatter for many of you everyday on your chairs”.

‘Here’s my plan – here is what I want: Extreme vetting.

“I don’t know anything about what you’re even talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists”, Trump said then.

Trump reiterated that he wouldn’t release his tax returns until an IRS audit is complete, although such an inquiry doesn’t bar him from making the documents public.

Trump: “They’ve been totally compromised by terrorism”, referring to both France and Germany.

“We have to have tough, we’re going to have, tough standards”.

Mr Duke, who founded a chapter of the KKK in the 1970s and went on to become the organisation’s “Grand Wizard”, has said he believes in equal rights for all Americans. Because the United Kingdom is saying, “We’re exhausted of this stuff, what’s going on, we’re exhausted of”.

Trump referenced criticism he received a few months ago, when he was slow to disavow Duke and white supremacists who were backing his campaign.

Donald Trump said Sunday he rebukes the support of David Duke, the white supremacist who recently launched a Senate campaign in Louisiana, who said he was inspired by Trump’s nomination.

Duke – once an avowed Nazi sympathizer who headed a Ku Klux Klan group – fell back into relative obscurity after losing a 1991 runoff to scandal-scarred Democrat Edwin Edwards.

In an interview with NBC News, Mr Trump was asked if he would support a Democrat over Mr Duke if it was necessary to defeat him, Mr Trump replied: “I guess, depending on who the Democrat is, but the answer would be yes”. U.S. presidential candidates typically release their tax returns during a primary race. The fact that they have elected politicians with bad immigration policies doesn’t make them a threat to us – only to themselves.

He said Americans are “embracing the core issues I have fought for my entire life”.
