Last Sunday, a vehicle loaded with gas cylinders was found near Notre Dame cathedral, leading to the discovery of a plot to attack a Paris railway station under direction of the so-called Islamic State.
Ornella G., as the suspect is identified, is charged with terrorism association and attempted murder as part of a terrorist group, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The alleged plot has become the second to be foiled in a week.
Prosecutors describe the woman as a 29-year-old on France’s anti-terror watch list.
Police also found a blanket in the vehicle with traces of hydrocarbons and a partially smoked cigarette they believe was used in a failed attempt to detonate the gas cans. She was known to intelligence agents as someone who was considering going to Syria.
The boy had already been under house arrest due to France’s state of emergency in which dozens of people are under special watch, said the official who was not authorised to speak publicly about the arrest and asked not to be named.
Three heavily radicalised women were arrested after auto laden with gas cylinders was found abandoned near Notre Dame cathedral in Paris on September 4, 2016.
The extremist group claimed responsibility for the Paris attacks in November that killed 130 people, among a series of recent assaults attributed to its followers including the Nice truck attack.
Paris anti-terror prosecutor Francois Molins said that when she was arrested, Madani had the keys to the auto in her bag, as well as a written pledge of allegiance to the Islamic State (IS) group and its leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said at a news conference that the women were inspired by IS.
Authorities arrested three additional women – ages 19, 23 and 39 – near Paris Thursday in relation to the Notre Dame plot. He added that people suspected of being radicalized or in contact with terrorist groups are now under surveillance by the police and intelligence services. According to French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve, the three were likely planning an imminent terror attack.

“In the last few days and hours, a terrorist cell was dismantled, composed of young women totally receptive to the deadly Daesh ideology”, Molins said, referring to IS by another name.
