Francesco Guidolin: I need to improve if Swansea are to improve

The left-back looked furious as he left the pitch but Guidolin says the matter is resolved after he apologised.

Guidolin told Sky Sports News after the game: “I chose to change something and I am sorry with Neil Taylor”.

An overhead kick by Diego Costa levelled a dramatic encounter that Swansea had dragged themselves back into after the Spain worldwide opened the scoring in the first half.

“We needed a changed man and in the second half we played better and more aggressive and I am happy for the result but it was a very, very hard game and Chelsea are a strong team. But this result is important because we can improve, we can work in the week better, with enthusiasm and optimism”.

The Italian was forced to make a substitution before half time, as he admitted that he wasn’t happy with either of his wing-backs, deciding to take off Neil Taylor just 4 minutes before half time – must to his frustration. In the dressing room we spoke together – no problem.

“At that moment my team needed a reaction and I had to change something”.

“We can play again with this shape because, in my opinion, we played well before the first Chelsea goal but not what I want”. Confidence is changing in my players.

“With him, I think Chelsea this year will win the Premier League”.
