Francis Coquelin out for at least 2 months with injury

Aaron Ramsey and Theo Walcott will not feature in Europe this week although the pair are nearing a return to action, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury and could be out until Christmas. A win would make the Champions League winnable only if Olympiakos lose to Bayern Munich and then again to Arsenal in Matchday Six.

Wenger is quoted by the Arsenal FC official website as saying: “It was a bad afternoon, we missed a penalty, we gave a goal away on set-piece, that is ideal to make your afternoon a nightmare and we missed open goal chances”.

The “young Schweinsteiger”, according to Ottmar Hitzfeld, may be the most hard to acquire in January, but he would surely be the flawless fit for Wenger’s side.

-The Gunners have scored in every one of their 19 Premier League games against West Brom, the longest 100 per cent scoring record of any side against a single opponent in Premier League history. You can not say that they had a doped player but the result stands. “We tried and tried and tried until the last minute but we can’t give any excuses – today we lost the three points”.

Their chief executive Zdravko Mamic was arrested on Wednesday for alleged transfer irregularities, while midfielder Arijan Ademi was handed a four-year doping ban on Friday after testing positive following Dinamo’s 2-1 home win over Arsenal in September.

“Our defending at that level was very, very poor”.

The Welsh worldwide provides his team with more than just attacking intent when playing, he can run around and do a great job, of course, he doesn’t tackle as well as Coquelin does, but he can do a pretty good job in midfield and from all the options at his disposal, Ramsey should be the one who plays there.

With only Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta in reserve, Arsenal could very well be short in the midfield area for at least a month. I don’t know how severe that is. We don’t know, he will have a scan today and we will know this afternoon.

But Wenger would be well-advised to consider the struggles others have had since departing St Mary’s, with Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and even Calum Chambers struggling to show their best when moved on to a more high-profile side.
