Frank Ocean finally releases long-awaited album

Instead of releasing the long-awaited “Boys Don’t Cry”, Ocean has released a visual album on iTunes called “Endless”.

In addition to “Endless”, Ocean is to release a separate audio album this weekend by Apple, reports Rolling Stone.

Endless features a variety of musicians, including James Blake and Jasmine Sullivan, and Radiohead’s, Johnny Greenwood.

After literally years of teases, hints, and admittedly interesting distractions, Frank Ocean has released his second album, the follow-up to 2012’s Grammy-winning Channel Orange.

For now, you can stream snippets of Blonde (stylized Blond on the album art) if you don’t have Apple Music, or stream the full thing if you’re a subscriber. More from the highly anticipated LP Boys Don’t Cry is expected to come down the pipes and out of the sprinklers in the coming days, so stay tuned.

In New York, the pop-up took over a magazine shop on the corner of Mulberry and Kenmare, with dozens of issues of Boys Don’t Cry inside glossy packaging arranged on the store’s racks.

Ocean posted a statement on his tumblr this morning, detailing the way fame, driving and his boyhood influenced the album.

Frank Ocean has delivered not one, but two albums to his anxiously awaiting fans. Earlier this month, Ocean broadcast a livestream on his website showcasing instrumental music.

There is also some ambiguity about the album’s title. But it’s not all straightforward: there’s also Frank Ocean setting himself on fire, a striking Kids-style party aftermath, and a lip-syncing chihuahua.

“Nikes is the best song I’ve heard this year, Frank Ocean is a blessing”, one Twitter user wrote.

It’s pretty clear at this point that Ocean likes playing games with his fans.
