Answering fans’ questions on Reddit, Malay said: “It’s about making sure the flawless aesthetic for the situation has been reached, to do that takes constant tweaking, trial and error”.

Also noteworthy is that Malay signed off the Reddit AMA by posting, “see y’all at the booty club”, a reference which had come up repeatedly throughout the conversation.

Malay first began working with Frank Ocean on the critically acclaimed 2012 album, channel ORANGE, where he contributed production for nine of the 17 records.

Many fans of Frank Ocean’s music have been left in the dark when it comes to information of any sort regarding his sophomore album, Boys Don’t Cry. Ho said that the reclusive recording artist is tweaking “Boys Don’t Cry”, ensuring that it’s got “the flawless anesthetic”. According to Vulture, a new app called (650) 82OCEAN will alert fans if and when “Boys Don’t Cry” is released. Ocean’s producer, Malay, responded to the frustration over the delay in a recent Reddit Q&A session.

Frank Ocean will not be rushed into dropping his latest project. In time, a large boom box – created by artist Tom Sachs – appeared in the room.

James “Malay” Ho played a significant role in the creation of Frank Ocean’s award-winning debut album.

This behavior is not unusual from Ocean.
