Frank Ocean releases long-awaited album, Blond
The hype machine for this album went into work earlier this month when a series of videos were streamed by Apple Music on a website for Boys Don’t Cry since the start of August. The singer unveiled it on Saturday (Aug. 20) at his temporary pop-up shop locations in New York, London, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Blonde is now available via iTunes, with a track list available below.

At the stores, the album came packaged with a Frank Ocean-edited, 360-page glossy magazine called Boys Don’t Cry, long expected to be the title of the record itself.
The zine, which some fans are already selling on eBay for $1,000, features a collection of stunning photographs, illustrations, poems and essays by several artists, including Ocean himself. Blonde features 17 new tracks with the album cover showing what appears to be a shirtless Ocean sporting green hair and covering his face with his arms.
On his Tumblr, Ocean confirms that he knew that folks were getting tired of waiting: “I had the time of my life making all of this”.

Frank Ocean released a “visual album” late Thursday. Not only is the album name stylized differently but the track listing inside the magazine only includes 12 songs, two of which are missing. He set the bar extremely high with his first release which won him two Grammy Awards, and he needed to live up to that expectation with his second album. Some fans even got to meet Ocean’s mother and brother at the LA event. Which is basically every one of y’all.
