Frank Ocean releases long-awaited new studio album

Though the singer remains relatively quiet, he did previously reveal on his Tumblr that he had two versions of his highly-anticipated album, Boys Don’t Cry.

Media reports say the 45-minute “visual album” is only available to subscribers of Apple’s music streaming service, which quickly drew comparisons to Beyonce’s recent video album “Lemonade”. It’s rumored that more music is coming our way, so Boys Don’t Cry might still be in the works.

The aforementioned Frank Ocean finally delivered his long awaited album, but not the one everyone expect.

It’s understandable if that last sentence left you skeptically blinking at your screen, given that the meticulous Ocean has been teasing a second album for at least the past year.

Rolling Stone has confirmed that Endless is a different project from his proper new album.

The album also includes contributions from major artists like James Blake, Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood and the London Contemporary Orchestra, according to the tracklist offered up by Apple Music.

Ocean’s first album, titled “Channel Orange”, earned him two Grammy awards.

The video features, among other things, Ocean on fire wearing a Jenny Holzer shirt, a nude female swimmer in a large tank of water, and a rapping Chihuahua. You won’t find a normal LP here in these 18 video tracks with music only complementing the visuals in Endless here.

But considering how trendy it’s become for singers to name-drop designers in their singles (ASAP Rocky, Jay Z and Kanye do so with frequency), we’d bet that the song is a reference to the fashion label. Meanwhile, after the seemingly endless wait, it seems a flood of Ocean is upon us: An Apple spokesperson told Pitchfork to “keep an eye out this weekend for more Frank”.
