It seems the fans are grateful as well, with Frank’s name trending on social media since the moment he reemerged on his Endless stream on Apple playing new music.

But, while everyone has been eagerly awaiting the album Boys Don’t Cry, which has been expected to come out since July of a year ago, Frank set the internet ablaze with Endless, a 45-minute visual album that was accompanied by a stream of the singer building a set of stairs from scratch. The “visual album” concept, of course, places Endless in the same category as Beyonce’s two such efforts: 2013’s Beyonce and this year’s Lemonade.

The long-awaited follow-up to 2012’s channel ORANGE made its debut in a video stream on Frank’s website, BoysDontCry.co, which was accompanied by footage of him building a spiral staircase in a warehouse.

There is also some ambiguity about the album’s title. Frank Ocean’s new album is going to be an Apple Music exclusive for a limited time. It was initially believed to be called Boys Don’t Cry. He appeared on Kanye West’s “The Life of Pablo” and contributed to James Blake’s recent release, “The Colour in Anything”.

Ocean’s new offering features a host of low-key guest appearances, including singers Jazmine Sullivan and Samph; Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead, who provided string orchestration; Arca, a Venezuelan electronic producer; and Alex G, a singer-songwriter from Philly.

Twitter went wild after the album’s release late Thursday, with users tweeting about the New Orleans native roughly 100 times per minute, according to social media analytics firm Zoomph.

As another added bonus under the “album contributors” section, Frank revealed the Blond credits, which includes an impressive list of heavy-hitting collaborators.
