Frank Stallone is Livid Over His Brother’s Oscar Snub
The critics had lauded Stallone, describing his Creed performance as handsome and powerful, with Vox observing that it was “the kind of old man role that the Academy often rewards when an actor who’s made Hollywood a bunch of money” offers up a critically acclaimed turn late in life. Unlike the Golden Globes, there is an actual overlap in membership for the Oscars with SAG and BAFTA. It was the Rocky star’s first nomination in almost 40 years, after he was nominated for Best Actor for the original movie in 1977.

Rylance was largely touted as the best part of Spielberg’s Bridge of Spies, about a lawyer (Tom Hanks) tasked with exchanging Rylance’s captive KGB officer for American pilot Francis Gary Power (Austin Stowell).
‘I don’t know, people come up and say things about competing as actors and I know it’s necessary to make a show out of it, ‘ he told reporters.

After all, this is far from the first time a Hollywood comeback story has stalled out on Oscar night.
