After a woman “walked away” prior to the completion of security checks, authorities chose to partially evacuate two sections of Terminal 1 this morning.

An airport spokeswoman has said there will be delays to the flight schedule after a passenger entered the airside area of the airport before their security check had been completed.
German Police announced that nothing suspicious was found after the evacuation and that they are questioning the person in connection with the incident. She could not provide any further details on the suspect.
The airport said operations would resume in a “phased and co-ordinated way”, however air safety organisation Eurocontrol said it could take hours before flights returned to normal.

Fraport, the operator, said a person passed a security checkpoint without being screened, causing two terminals to be evacuated. All passengers will have to go through the security check again, it said. Amsterdam’s Schiphol was partly evacuated in April, and Cologne-Bonn Airport – in May.
