One of the best perks, by far, is that every park is free for the whole week – so now is the time to visit one of the pricier parks on your bucket list as you won’t have to pay. The others are free all of the time. Free admission will be offered at Rocky Mountain National Park, Mesa Verde, Great Sand Dunes and Black Canyon of the Gunnison. In 2014, he had to select a national park for the reverse side of the Virginia state quarter, and he ended up selecting Shenandoah National Park. Children can complete the Olympic National Park Junior Ranger activity booklet, attend a ranger program and explore park nature trails to earn a Junior Ranger badge and certificate.
On April 23, Homestead will host an InstaMeet photo scavenger hunt with other park users across the country from 1-3 p.m. For the centennial year, the national parks are rewarding outstanding volunteers with Centennial Volunteer Challenge Coins.
