The New Mexico Lobos scored a go-ahead touchdown with:55 seconds left in the fourth quarter, and the University of Hawaii lost its fourth consecutive road game, 28-27, in Albuquerque on Saturday.

On their next drive, the Lobos drove the field 88 yards where they were stopped twice inside the 3-yard line, butKennedy Tulimasealii made the ultimate stop on third down, stripping the handoff exchange from quarterback Lamar Jordan, jumping on the fumble to send the ball the other way. Teriyon Gipson had 80 rushing yards for New Mexico and Jhurell Pressley added 70.
Hawaii Warriors rank at 122 for scoring 18.8 points where as New Mexico Lobos rank at 71 for allowing 25.5 scores. The New Mexico Lobos passing attack has averaged 158.5 yards per game (No. 115) compared to the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors defence that ranks No. 33 give up through the air (183.5 yards per game on average).

However, UAB has struggled defensively at times and hasn’t shut out anyone this season. In total, the UH defensive unit collected 7.0 tackles for loss and made 3.0 sacks. UNM is now 4-3 overall and 2-1 in conference play this season.

The UNM men are still searching for not only their first win in conference play, but also a complete performance.
