Freedom Caucus catching flak after supporting Ryan
One is an extreme ideological divide between the two parties that has produced century-high levels of polarization. Such a venue would also facilitate adoption of party conditions for the filing of motions to remove the speaker-a key demand of Speaker Ryan. As Rush Limbaugh stated after Ryan issued his list of calls for to Home lawmakers: You wouldn’t think in that the Freedom Caucus, the conservatives within the Home, the Tea Party bash caucus, no matter you would like to call them, no means would they go together with this.

He has shown skills a speaker needs. He opted instead for generalities: “We can make the House a more open and inclusive body – one where every member can contribute to the legislative process”.
The events of last week have confirmed the inordinate power of an ultra-right-wing minority on Republicans in the US House of Representatives, as Representative Paul Ryan of Wisconsin became the consensus choice for the top leadership position following his endorsement by the House Freedom Caucus.
Outgoing speaker John Boehner had angered House conservatives by passing legislation they opposed with votes from House Democrats. “This has a direct impact on the lives of the American people”, said House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi who, like President Barack Obama, is demanding a conditions-free hike of the debt ceiling. The pilot figures maybe he’d just better hang easy about that eject button.
That should be great news for the Republican Party, but only if Ryan is empowered to lead. “We the people thank you for ridding us of John Boehner!”.
The GOP caucus has managed to overcome its divisions in getting behind Ryan. Boehner disregarded this procedure on several critical occasions when legislation could only be passed with a minority of Republicans joining with a near-unanimous Democratic caucus.
“Boehner’s leadership style has contributed to these divisions”, Green says.
Rep. Marlin Stutzman, R-3rd, the only member of the Freedom Caucus from Indiana, backs Ryan. What Republicans ought to do is pocket the gains they have already made and try to win the 2016 election. “I was honestly surprised he was able to do that”, Sensenbrenner said last week. Though the race initially pointed to even more disarray among conservatives, with the far-right House Freedom Caucus effectively ousting former frontrunner Kevin McCarthy by endorsing another candidate, a different feeling has since emerged from the race.
Republicans have a powerful political motivation to avoid a governing crisis. The entire official USA political structure has been moving steadily to the right over the past 40 years.
I’m talking about Joe Biden and Paul Ryan. Could he be wrong?
It’s hard to describe what a big deal that is unless you are up close and personal with the lifestyle, not just of politics, but of many jobs in the current era: the 24/7 on-call expectation, the constant deadlines, the schmoozing and networking that go on and on into the wee hours, night after night. The differences are over tactics, with the Freedom Caucus taking the view that the Republican majority in Congress should impose its policies on the Obama administration by cutting off funding and forcing a partial shutdown of the federal government or a federal default on debt payments.
Pearce, who repeatedly clashed with Boehner over what he described as Boehner’s reticence to confront Democrats over spending, immigration and other issues, said Tuesday night he wasn’t thrilled with Ryan’s “preconditions” for accepting the job, which initially included a demand that the House Freedom Caucus endorse him.
He’s not a magician.
The House speaker election is scheduled for Thursday. Not a capitulation, as many like to characterize it, but a principled compromise. Such legislation would pass with nearly entirely Democratic votes.
That will challenge the unity of the GOP caucus. She says Representative Webster “is a fine man” and “would be an extraordinary speaker”. They want conservatives to have “appropriate representation” on House committees. Ryan responded that it can be read by the general public “once it’s agreed to”. “He has the policy expertise, conservative principles and strong values we need in our next Speaker”, RSC Chairman Bill Flores said in a statement.
Ryan also will have to learn the art of using both carrots and sticks to enforce discipline in this caucus.

Michael Needham of Heritage Action for America noted that Ryan has demonstrated conservative credentials, citing his 2006 push to overhaul Medicare premiums.
