Environment Canada is warning of slippery conditions that may cause significant impact on transportation. Areas from Toronto westward will see the freezing rain change to rain Thursday morning.
Environment Canada says the exact track of this storm remains uncertain and that even a slight shift in the track of this storm will affect how much snow, freezing precipitation or rain falls at any particular location. Check the flight status before heading out as the freezing rain and snow could force delays or cancellations. “Utility outages may occur”.
“Winter storms like these typically bring 20 to 30 centimetres of snow to areas that receive only snow”, while others areas will get less snow but rain or ice pellets mixed in, the weather office says.
By midnight, the precipitation was expected to become freezing rain – which, with temperatures right around the freezing mark, could linger as long as Thursday afternoon before turning into rain.
Rain is expected in Toronto Wednesday night and freezing rain is then expected to begin early Thursday morning just in time for the morning traffic rush.

This weather statement is in effect for Chatham-Kent, Rondeau Park, Windsor, Leamington, and Essex County. There is also a risk of a thunderstorm in the regions Thursday.
