Niko, a Fremont police dog that escaped from its yard sometime Friday night, was found hiding in a San Jose creek bed Sunday morning, according to police. Ricardo Cortes. “His handler responded as well, the dog came to the handler and it was all resolved at that point, the dog is now back with the handler”. Cortez said San Jose and Fremont police conducted a house-to-house search in the Willow Glen neighborhood where the dog disappeared, as well as in other areas of the city.

According to police, Niko is 16 months old, weighs 85 lbs. and has an ear tattoo.
