French President François Hollande To Chair Crisis Talks With Inner Security Cabinet
Police officers and civilians alike threw themselves in the path of a truck driver who drove into crowds of people celebrating Bastille Day Thursday in Nice, France. “So far no report of any Indians affected”.

He says emergency rule imposed in France after Islamist attacks killed 130 people in Paris last November will be extended for three months beyond what was supposed to be an expiry date of July 26.
The driver of the truck was shot and killed by police.
The attack was of an “undeniable terrorist nature”, he said, confirming that several children were among the dead.
“A person jumped onto the truck to try to stop it”, Ciotti told Europe 1 radio.
“France was struck on the day of its national holiday, July 14, the symbol of liberty”, Hollande said. “Russian nationals Poliva Serebryannikova (born 1995) and Galina Sokolova (born 1956) are in hospitals in Monaco and Nice”.
Posters for the film included the tagline, “This year, they are the fireworks”, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Boston’s Bastille Day celebration will go on Friday night as scheduled, despite the deadly attack in Nice, France, according to the city’s French Cultural Center. “Seems like terrorist attacks are nearly an everyday thing”, said Sue Deep.
With presidential and parliamentary elections less than a year away, French opposition politicians seized on what they described as security failings that made it possible for the truck to career 2km through large crowds before it was finally halted.
A local French newspaper has named the man behind the Nice terror attack that has left 84 dead, it has been reported.
Wassim Bouhlel, a Nice native who spoke to the AP near Nice’s Promenade du Paillon, said that he saw a truck drive into the crowd and then witnessed the man emerge with a gun and start shooting.
“Even on hard days like this, that’s what gives me hope, Obama said, after noting, “It’s been a hard several weeks here in the U.S”.
The truck which slammed into revelers on Thursday is seen near the site of the attack.
Nearly exactly eight months ago Daesh militants killed 130 people in Paris.

Both attacks were claimed by the Islamic State group.
