You can’t fault the performance, we just have to be more ruthless at both ends. Manchester United made seven, Manchester City made 10 points over Christmas.

As the search operation is now underway in the base on Sunday, security personnel have recovered bodies of all four terrorists, who were killed after a day-long gun-battle on Saturday, along with their weapons like AK 47s, mortars, grenade launchers and GPS (Global Positioning System) devices.

National Security Guard (NSG) commandos and the army’s para-commandos (special forces) were engaged in a gunfight with terrorists still believed to be inside and have been cornered in one area of the air base.

According to multiple agencies, the martyrs included a Garud Commando from IAF, 5 personnel of the Defence Security Corps (DSC) and an NSG personnel.

A group of terrorists in army fatigues had yesterday attempted to storm the base, which is barely 35 kms from the International Border with Pakistan, but could not penetrate deep. Some senior officials of the Punjab Police led by DGP Suresh Arora are also present here. These were done during the on-going combing operations to sanitize the area.

Yesterday after four terrorists were killed the Punjab police declared the operation as over. They managed to go up to 400 metres but were still 700 metres away from the area where the IAF aircraft fighters were stationed.

Uncertainty prevailed on the number of terrorists killed at the base, with Rajnath Singh withdrawing an earlier tweet putting the number at five.
