Fresno Police Release Body-Camera Video in Dylan Noble Shooting
When Noble finally did pull over, he repeatedly failed to follow police instructions, including not showing both of his hands, exiting his truck when he was not instructed to do so, then walking towards police when told to get on the ground and show both of his hands. The pickup truck, driven by 19 year-old Dylan Noble, did not pull over for a half mile. “Fresno Police Department!” one of the officers, wielding a shotgun, shouts. He put one hand up.

At this point, Noble has been shot three times.
Noble can also be heard saying that he hates his life before an officer shot him, twice.
One officer shot Noble twice, causing the teen to fall on the ground.
He continues to walk toward officers with his right hand concealed and his left hand in the air.
Fresno police claim Noble reached for his waistband, causing them to fear for their lives.
Ezra David Romero, of member station KVPR, reports that Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer says he “will be looking at every single round that was fired” in the incident.
As he lay on the ground, Noble appeared to reach at his waist for something and is shot by the same officer a third time. “I do not have the answer to that today”, Dyer said, according to the Guardian. “However, I also believe this video is going to raise questions just as those questions exist in my mind as well”.
You can watch the entire police conference with Dyer here.
“Tensions are high”, said Dyer. And I pray this video doesn’t serve as that spark …
On Wednesday, Stuart Chandler, the attorney for Dylan Noble’s mother Veronica Nelson, said, “We are pleased to discover from the media that Chief Dyer is belatedly providing the body camera footage to the general public”. Whether Noble was dead in this video was unknown. Another officer fired the fourth shot. Conservative news outlets and some of Noble’s friends have argued that if Noble had been black instead of white the case would have been more widely covered.
The family has now launched legal action against the city, arguing the shooting was “an inexcusable use of excessive force”.
“And I always know in decisions that are this critical, you’re not going to have everybody that supports it, not the officers, not the union”. He said he would look at every one of the four rounds that were fired, and whether each of them was needed and within the law. Dyer went on to say he originally planned to release the body cam video, shortly after the video was shown to the Noble family.
“The footage comes after cell phone footage was released last week”. Noble continues to ignore commands while holding his hand behind him. “Nothing they do can bring my kid back, but I want those cops to pay”, Noble said. “This is a traffic stop”.
Dylan Noble was killed on June 25 during a traffic stop in California. Noble gets back in the truck, leaving the door open.
Dyer said he meant to make the video public last Friday, but he held off because of the shooting deaths of police in Dallas the night before.
The Fresno Police Department’s account of the incident is that Noble was stopped in response a report that a man in the area was carrying a rifle, and they believed him to be armed.
