Pryor, a standout at Locke High School in Los Angeles past year, had not played a game yet in 2015 for the Bulldogs.

Several students saw the original post and word quickly spread via social media.

Fresno State wide receiver Christian Malik Pryor was arrested Monday after threatening to “release my frustrations” with gunfire on the school’s campus, the Fresno Bee reports. However, there would be an increased police presence on campus.

Fresno State officials, including Police Chief David Huerta, did not name Pryor during an afternoon news conference, but Pryor’s name appeared in booking information posted on the Fresno County Sheriff’s jail website a short time later and sources at the university confirmed his arrest in connection with the case.

However, after campus officials issued an email warning to faculty and students, a few professors chose to cancel class on their own.

Huerta said he was unaware of any connections to a similar incident which happened in Tempe, Ariz.as a threat was made there as well at Arizona State University. But now he’s facing a very serious charge that investigators aren’t taking lightly.

The anonymous threat was made via the instant messaging app Yik Yak and the sender threatened to “release my frustrations” at 3 p.m. on Monday. It detailed the gun that would be used and implied the attack would occur Monday afternoon.

A tweet at 1:12 p.m. from Pryor’s account, responding to another person’s concern, read: “it sounds like a joke but be safe”. Dispatch has asked that we remain on alert until further notice. Peres was at Fresno State when she heard the news.
