At the time of this writing, the game has raised a total of $716,555, and has a plausible shot at achieving a few of its stretch goals.

Initially pitched as a homage to Friday the 13th and its horror peers, Gun Media soon attracted the attention and indeed support of franchise creator Sean Cunningham.
Horror fans rejoice! Friday the 13th: The Game, an asymmetrical multiplayer game that puts players in the shoes of Jason Voorhees, has been successfully funded on Kickstarter, and is slated for release in October of 2016. We’re working on a game that demands a lot of horror and tension, but we’re giving players the control to create those scenarios.
With two days to go before the end of its Kickstarter campaign, Friday the 13th: The Game has surpassed its funding goal of $700,000.
At this point, it’s unrealistic for Friday the 13th: The Game to hit most of its stretch goals, but it could potentially earn enough to add a couple more environmental kills to the game.
“This has been a rollercoaster ride from the start. The biggest challenge is that we do it right and that we deliver a title that lives up to the expectations of all fans”. “I’m downright ecstatic!” said Randy Greenback, Executive Director.
“This is a game that pairs well with me like fine wine and a steak or a dead body and a tight crawl space”. Anyone and everyone who calls themselves a fan of the horror genre will enjoy this game. The weaker minds? Well, they may need to sleep with the lights on for a while…
“The fans of Friday the 13th are a lot like Jason; undying”.

The Friday the 13: The Game Kickstarter wraps up at midnight EST on November 13-which, by the way, is Friday. A variety of other stretch goals include new kills and more, including Mirror Smash ($725,000) and Head Crush ($750,000) kills, as well as new Jason character skins ($875,000) and a single-player mode ($1.625 million). That means 1v7 multiplayer in a “semi-open” world of Camp Crystal Lake, as Jason looks to pick off the teens one by one.
