Solomon’s body, which had suffered a wound to the head, was identified by his family, who flew to Rome on Sunday.

Within hours of landing on Thursday, the American exchange student disappeared after going to a bar, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Solomon had arrived in the capital on Thursday to undertake a five-week course at John Cabot University.
He alerted the school’s administrators when Solomon failed to appear at orientation the next morning, the university said. Over was $1,700 was found to have been charged to Solomon’s credit card in Milan. The student’s body was located 2,000 feet from the pub he visited, nearby a concurred area where a summer fair is being celebrated.
“The investigation into Beau’s death remains active and we are unable to share additional information about the circumstances around his disappearance late last week”, Guido Podesta, UW-Madison vice provost and dean of the worldwide division, said in a statement.
“All of us at UW-Madison are greatly saddened by this loss”.
“Beau was a bright and caring young man who lived the Wisconsin Idea through his work at Badger Boys State and his desire to travel and experience other cultures”, her statement said.
“Beau holds a special place in our hearts”, College Republicans of UW-Madison said on their Facebook page.
Officers told The Daily Beast that Solomon was assaulted by a local gang of thugs. Galioto then went back to sleep in his tent on the riverbank after his alleged crime, the Italian news service ANSA reported. An autopsy should determine if the 19-year-old student died drowned.

As they prepared to send their 19-year-old son to Rome for the summer, Beau Solomon’s parents figured they had little to worry about. He participated in high school activities such as sports and worked as a camp counselor, added his brother.
Solomon’s family was in Italy and John Cabot University was in contact with Italian authorities, the U.S. Embassy and his U.S. college, its president, Franco Pavoncello, told The Associated Press.
Solomon is originally from Spring Green, Wisconsin. In a statement Tuesday, police said he was taken into custody because he was “seriously implicated” in the murder. People under 21 years old can legally acquire alcohol in Italy.

The number of USA students studying overseas for credit during the 2013-14 academic year rose 5.2 percent, to more than 304,000 students, according to the National Association of Foreign Student Affairs: Association of International Educators.
