Friends of Westland Library hold fall used book sale

Browse thousands of fabulous books and media at the sale, which starts Wednesday night for members, and runs Thursday until Sunday during library hours. It is restocked daily with books for all ages and interests. There will also be some sheet music and music books on sale for $1 each.

Beth Heldebrandt, the public relations director for Booth Library, said students, faculty, staff and Charleston residents donated the books; they are also organized and displayed by subject.

Everything at the sale is sold for low prices. Grocery sacks will be provided to shoppers and all the books that you can fit into a bag can be yours for $5.

As the weather gets cooler, it is the flawless time to curl up in a blanket and grab a book, and the Friends Book Sale is here to help you find the ideal read. DVDs and CDs are $1.

The Friends of the Romeo District Library has operated a used book store inside of the Kezar Branch, 107 Church St., for many years with proceeds going to library programming, amenities for the library and funding for scholarships for library science students. “Funds raised at the book sale (are) used to offer services and programs to the library’s patrons”, Heldebrandt said. The exact date of this event has not been decided, but it will be held sometime in April.
