Five of the six stars of “Friends” appeared in a two-hour tribute to director James Burrows that aired on NBC Sunday night, which featured plenty of amusing and touching moments.

Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer gathered on stage at a formal event to salute Burrows, where they reminisced about their time on their beloved 1994-2004 show. We experienced friendship, heartbreaks, babies, everything together.’ she continued. And we had a wonderful experience with the world loving us, as well.

That we do Jen, that we do.

This was the question doing the rounds in the promo for the show and a long-running rumour, but Lisa confirmed that, nope, she was not asked to sign anything, although she didn’t speak for the rest of them mind…

Crane: It is incredible the number of children of friends who are discovering the show for the first time and that’s so exciting.

While many fans tuned in to see the much talked about reunion, some were disappointed at how little airtime the Friends cast had.

But one thing that was quite evident during the reunion was that when it came to chemistry among the cast, there was no faking it. “In the beginning, it was not a hard thing”, said Aniston.

Also upping the energy is the show’s “ambitious” cold open, Irwin says, featuring Woody Harrelson, Eric McCormack, Matt LeBlanc and Charlie Sheen, among others.

Andy asked the Friends cast if they all signed contracts ‘saying that you wouldn’t sleep with each other?’ I think it was sort of unspoken, but we instinctively felt like we need to be friends, we need to get along, we need to connect.

After a start directing summer stock and dinner theater, Burrows moved to TV in the 1970s, getting his big break on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and never switching to single-camera comedies like “Modern Family”.

“I call Steven Spielberg the Jimmy Burrows of feature film”, said “Will & Grace” star Sean Hayes, an executive producer for the special.
