Bill Veghte, a ex- Microsoft executive who joined HP five years ago, will leave the company later this summer to “pursue a new opportunity”, HP said in a statement on Tuesday.
It’s unclear whether the turmoil of the split or the prospects of continuing on with HP Enterprise under Whitman’s leadership led to Veghte’s decision to leave. “It has been a privilege working with Meg and a great leadership team as we transform HP to help customers on their journey to the new style of IT”.
The departure of Veghte marks the third such move in advance of the HP split, noted an article at ZDNet. This group is open to IT Leaders, MIS & IT Managers, Network & Infrastructure Managers who share insights, discuss challenges & wins and keep abreast of cutting edge technologies.
Whitman will become chief exec of the second new company, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, which will handle IT offerings for businesses, including servers, networking, storage, and cloud services.
“I am grateful for all he did to help me lead HP through the turnaround and into the separation”, she said. “I know Bill will continue to enjoy great success in the years to come”. She will serve as chairman of HP Inc., which will take the personal-computer and printer business.
