Basically, the theory boils down to this: The King and Queen of Arendelle (Elsa and Anna’s parents) didn’t die at sea.

If that tragic plot sounds familiar, it’s what happened to Tarzan’s parents! Also, Hans will reportedly help Elsa and Anna fend off attacks from the new villain. (Is your mind blown yet?).

So was Buck actually telling the truth?
Disney Animation’s “Frozen” had been one of the studio’s most successful films, becoming their third-highest grossing movie as it made a total gross of $1.274 billion in 2013 and smashed numerous records. A bit of both.
Buck officially said that they are now back in the writer’s room for the sequel and that he and his co-director, Jennifer Lee, are now coming up with new ideas for the film.
“[In Frozen] she had such a dramatic journey, and at the end she’s just starting to feel like she can open up and have some fun again”, he told Fandango.
Instead, Buck claimed that they had been washed up on an island, where they built a tree house and then got “eaten by a leopard”. The idea proposed by fans involved Anna and Elsa’s parents, who were lost at sea in a shipwreck, owning the ship that Ariel swims through in The Little Mermaid, but surviving the shipwreck to have their new son in a jungle somewhere, leading to Tarzan. They get shipwrecked, and somehow they really washed way far away from the Scandinavian waters, and they end up in the jungle.
Still, it’s fun to think about these connections, tenuous as they are, and it also gives us an excuse to sob over Tarzan’s opening sequence.

Although we might not see a “Frozen“-“Tarzan” crossover any time soon, it’s safe to say the two stories share one special place in the director’s heart. Along with those adorable surfing penguins, of course. The Frozen and Tarzan theory isn’t official, but Buck said, “Whatever people want to believe, go for it. If you want to tie them all together, then do it”.
