FSU QB Maguire returns after injury scare in Peach Bowl
Houston’s backup quarterback, Kyle Postma, promptly guided Houston to the touchdown that broke Florida State’s back. Sean Maguire finished the day 22-44 for 392 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions.

FSU (10-3) will go into next season looking for a quarterback, but it will get everyone else back on offense.
Dalvin Cook hasn’t gotten the touches he needs, but he isn’t getting the space to run he needs to warrant those touches.
But when Maguire injured his ankle, everything fell apart for FSU.
Maguire was hurt when hit by Houston linebacker Matthew Adams after throwing an incomplete pass from the Cougars 8. “This is going to be it, our goal is not to take another [loss.] We’re going to go out there next season and play our hearts out”. Later in the third quarter, Stewart added another interception when Maguire tried a deep pass for Whitfield between two defenders. Houston put up two touchdowns in that second quarter, including one on a wide receiver pass to head into the locker room leading the ‘Noles 21-3.

Through the years, OR has almost trademarked the 1-2-3 combination – touchdown, turnover, touchdown. That touchdown allowed Houston to regain a 14 point lead 31-17 and become the first team to score at least 25 points on Florida State.
“I’m more disappointed than them”.
The momentum turned back to the Cougars two plays later, when Maguire’s pass was intercepted by Stewart. And it only got worse for FSU.
The Houston defense also did it’s part by stopping the FSU rushing attack and tailback Dalvin Cook.
Turning point: Pick any of FSU’s five turnovers.
Walker is eligible for the 2016 National Football League draft, but there’s a chance he could return to Tallahassee for what could be a huge senior season on the Seminoles’ defense.
Houston ends its year with an American Athletic Conference title and the second 13-win campaign in program history. With FSU showing no ability to throw the ball, the Cougars were able to swarm the box, preventing Cook from even crossing the line of scrimmage. The main stars were on the other sideline.
Houston (12-1, 18th) is an up-and-coming school who made a lot of noise this year and will certainly be on peoples radar next season.

Herman pressed so numerous right buttons in 2015, it was ridiculous. His play off the read-option helped the Cougars slice up Florida State’s front throughout the game. The Seminoles, who committed only 10 turnovers in the regular season, gave the ball away five times this afternoon. A feisty Cougars defense thrived on a high-risk, high-reward mentality and stifled a young Seminoles unit that was beginning to find its form late in the season. But the season isn’t longer. Houston quarterback Greg Ward Jr. passed for 238 yards and a touchdown and ran for two touchdowns and 67 yards in the win, although he was knocked out of the game late in the fourth quarter.
