Since October 1, nearly daily attacks and clashes between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers have killed 112 on the Palestinian side, 17 Israelis, an American and an Eritrean. Israeli military said it has sentenced Jarrear to 15 months in prison after convicting her of belonging to an illegal organization and incitement.

The terrorist was shot and killed on the scene. Checkpoint 56 is the major checkpoint leading from the Palestinian market area at Bab al-Zawwiya into the Tel Rumeida neighbourhood and the small stretch of Shuhada Street that is still accessible for Palestinians. The remainder died in clashes with security forces.

At least 89 of those slain were killed “in cold blood”, according to the ministry.

Officials at the Haifa port seized a shipment of thousands of plush dolls with raised hands holding toy rocks.

At the height of the violence, the Israeli authorities stepped up security in occupied East Jerusalem, with heavily-armed police and paramilitary troops deployed in the city and several Palestinian neighborhoods being entirely cordoned off.

Israel accuses Palestinian groups – especially resistance movement Hamas and the Palestinian Authority, which respectively govern the blockaded Gaza Strip and the West Bank – of inciting attacks on Israelis.

Later in the evening, assailants shot at a vehicle near the West Bank town of Tulkarem, wounding two Israelis, the army said.
