Fugitive groom Murat Shomshe arrested in Melbourne after skipping bail
New videos of Murat Shomshe have emerged of him rapping, dancing and drinking a Corona while driving. He had 470 guests at his wedding.

“He’s got a bit of a history of offences involving violent assaults, and he’s had previous access to firearms”, Victoria police chief commissioner Graham Ashton said on Monday.
Shomshe was given weekend release after telling Judge Richard Maidment he would lose a $6000 deposit if his wedding was cancelled.
According to The Herald Sun, alleged criminal Murat Shomshe, 33, was granted a furlough from prison to marry his sweetheart Belinda Dulevski, which he did.
He was offered bail but was ordered to face the county court two days later so he could be taken back into custody.
The 33-year-old fled his home while his wife was in the shower and failed to appear in court.
“I’ve been told that, yes, they did get married on Saturday”, Shomshe’s lawyer said. “The fact that there is a complainant who is probably justified to be in fear, and the fact [Shomshe] has convictions for possessing prohibited weapons”, Judge Maidment said before imposing strict bail conditions. He was being held while he awaited trial for “reckless conduct endangering life, handling stolen goods and attempting to pervert the course of justice”.

Shomshe’s brief escape from police has strengthen calls for bail laws to be tightened with the Victorian government already reviewing the system, which Mr Andrews hopes will be finished by the end of the year.
