After Fournette was stopped for no gain on fourth-and-1 from near midfield just before halftime, the Badgers doubled their lead as Gaglianone kicked a 48-yarder with 54 seconds left.

LSU, which struggled to muster an offensive pulse against the Badger’s stifling defense, finally broke through on the scoreboard when cornerback Tre’Davious White picked off Wisconsin quarterback Bart Houston and scampered for a score.

After Wisconsin drove right down into LSU’s 10, Rickey Jefferson had the biggest play of the day so far for LSU with his pick in the redzone. That gave them a 16-14 lead over LSU.

D’Cota Dixon recorded a huge interception off of LSU quarterback Brandon Harris, and in the process, sealed a massive win for the Badgers. A 23-yard punt by LSU freshman Josh Growden allowed Wisconsin to take over at its 40. They did a great job shutting down the LSU offense and running back Leonard Fournette, but Badger fullback Troy Fumagalli did a terrific job showing off his sheer power. But then things began to go LSU’s way.

And it was over as Wisconsin ran out the final 57 seconds for the victory.

I expect LSU to eventually pull away and take care of business here, but I don’t expect it to be easy. LSU safety Rickey Jeffersonstepped in front of the pass in the endzone for his fourth career interception.

And here we are, back again to open up another season of LSU Football. That made the score 13-7 Badgers.

It was still scoreless midway in the 2nd quarter when LSU running back Derrius Guice fumbled the ball.

Richmond (1-0) controlled the game from the opening kickoff as it scored on its first four possessions of the first half, which included three field goals and an 11-yard touchdown pass by Lauletta. The wide receivers for LSU are fantastic. The team has plenty of offensive weapons to utilize, and with a new-and-improved defense led by someone who knows Wisconsin well, it looks as if LSU may be unstoppable in this Week One matchup.

Wisconsin led 13-0 with 10:55 remaining in the third quarter.

In the 2nd quarter, the Badgers were in the red zone.

Fournette will likely have a big game just because Brandon Harris will have a tough time passing the ball against this secondary.

For LSU, which entered the game as double-digit favorites, the loss represented a potentially devastating blow to the Tigers’ national championship aspirations. “As a defense, we were confident, but watching the offense and how they prepared and how they went down the field and got those last three points was for us motivating to put the last stamp on it and give us the win”. His Beaver teams used more of a one-back look with H-back tight ends and slot backs, but his Wisconsin team brings it back to the Barry Alvarez years with more fullbacks and traditional tight ends.

Fournette appeared to recover quickly and was walking around on the sidelines.

The game-winning pass was from 4 yards out and came after the Razorbacks (1-0) trailed for much of the second half.

Meanwhile, the depth question came to the forefront on the first defensive snap of the game when starting inside linebacker Chris Orr went down with a right leg injury. He’ll start inside with Chris Orr in the 3-4 defense, with T.J. Watt – NFL star J.J. Watt’s brother – bookending Biegel on the outside.
