Full Moon Christmas 2015 is here today
The BusinessInsider notes that, Christmas is already a special time for many Americans, but there’s an added bonus to this year’s celebration: For the first time in 38 years, the last full moon of the year will fall on December 25.

Finland’s Ursa Astronomical Association, the oldest and largest amateur astronomy association in the country, states on its website that a full moon will shine down on Finland the night of December 25th.
Tonight’s full moon will be the last one of 2015 and will bring the curtain down on an unbelievable year of celestial events that included the supermoon lunar eclipse in September. “That full moon happened on December 25, 1977”. “The geologic history of the moon and Earth are intimately tied together such that the Earth would be a dramatically different planet without the moon”.
It won’t happen again until 2034, so hopefully you were able to catch a glimpse. Known as a full cold moon, the last of the year, it peaked Friday morning at 6:11 a.m. EST. We just missed a full moon on Christmas 19 years ago; instead, the full moon fell on Christmas Eve. Happy Christmas to all of you.
