Full Speech: Donald Trump rallies in Akron, Ohio

Donald Trump, tempering the tone of his hard-line approach to tackling immigration reform for a general election audience, avoided endorsing his previous call for mass deportations on Monday and instead said he wants to come up with a “really fair” plan to address the millions of undocumented immigrants now in the country.

Donald Trump made a passionate pitch to the African-American voters, who he said were living in poverty in neighbourhoods that are more risky than war zones, but drew strong criticism from the rival c for insulting and stereotyping the community.

“Donald Trump has been disciplined and mature”.

Any backtrack would mark a dramatic reversal for Mr Trump.

“The first thing we’re going to do, if and when I win, is we’re going to get rid of all of the bad ones”.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump doubled down on a promise of a massive economic revival in a rally tonight at the University of Akron.

The 70-year-old billionaire tycoon intends to lay out specifics of his immigration plan over the next few weeks, according to Trump’s new campaign manager Kellyanne Conway.

But in a meeting with Hispanic activists on Saturday, Mr Trump indicated he was open to considering allowing those who had not committed crimes beyond their immigration offences to obtain some form of legal status – though attendees stressed he had yet to make up his mind.

At a rally in Akron, Ohio, on Monday night, Trump reiterated his pledge to build a wall on the U.S. -Mexico border to keep illegal immigrants out of the country.

“In fact, I guess they said the two assets they were talking about were – they went out and did an appraisal – I think they said Dollars 3.7 billion”.

But Trump’s campaign has pushed back on the notion that he’s reversing course.

Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, is spending the next three days fund raising across California.

People magazine reported in a Twitter message that Powell said that Clinton’s “people have been trying to pin” her email scandal on him. “If you are here illegally, you have to stay out.” she said.

Mr Trump also announced his first ad buys of the campaign, more evidence of an acceptance of the traditional campaign elements most experts believe he will need in order to have a shot at winning. He made a direct appeal to African-American voters, insisting he wants the GOP to become their political home. “We’re not seeing a pivot”. “Mr. Trump said nothing today that he hasn’t said many times before, including in his convention speech”, rapid response director Steven Cheung said after the meeting.

As Trump prepares to wade once more into the heated immigration debate, the campaign is taking care to craft the critical speech, which the campaign absolutely wants to get right, the source said.
