FULL TEXT: Joe Biden’s 2016 Democratic National Convention Speech

Hillary Clinton closed out the week with a speech that bet against fear and division, an optimistic, self-deprecating pitch driven by the conviction that Americans-Sanders voters as well as Republicans and independents wary of Donald Trump-need to rely on one another to solve the nation’s problems. The delegates erupted into a chant, “Not a clue!” “In an unstable world, we can not afford unstable leadership”. Biden said at the Democratic National Convention.

“I can’t put it any better than Jackie Kennedy did after the Cuban Missile Crisis”, Clinton said. “How can there be pleasure in saying, ‘You’re fired?'” he asked, calling the idea that Trump cares about the middle class “malarkey”.

According to the excerpts of the speech, Obama said the America he knows is full of courage, optimism, and ingenuity. It also makes your “revolution” look decidedly far-fetched – veering from a socialist candidate to someone parroting the best lines out of the Idiot’s Guide to Fascism shows recklessness, not conviction. Now she’s making false attacks on Barack Obama.

“That’s the Hillary I know”.

The Virginia governor said: “Hillary has a passion for kids and families…”

Clinton, Obama’s bitter primary rival in the 2008 presidential elections, served as his Secretary of State in his first term from 2009-2012. Given Obama’s popularity among the party faithful, Kaine was relegated to speak before him.

The ad is so harsh, in fact, I wouldn’t be surprised to see whomever the GOP nominee ends up being using it in his ads against Clinton, should she become the Democratic nominee. He expressed support for a $10 minimum wage but said it should be up to state governments to decide because of variations in the cost of living. I had the urge to wave one that said “Free Hillary”.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign is the latest hacking victim. To be sure, her husband’s and daughter’s convention speeches helped provided a more rounded picture of the kind of person she is.

The Clinton campaign has sought to portray Trump, who has no experience in public office, as temperamentally unfit for the White House. “That’s not law and order. In public safety and national security, she exuded power and strength”.

It’s been noted that white could be a nod to women suffragists, who often wore it when marching for the right to vote. Instead, the party’s liberal wing have called for everything from a halt to war and fracking to clean-up efforts in Flint, Michigan’s polluted water.

Unlike the Republican convention in Cleveland last week, most speakers addressed domestic policy issues. Indeed, her campaign manager speculated recently that the entire campaign might not suffice to do so and that people would come to trust her only when they saw her carrying out her duties as president.

“Speaking is hard for me, but come January, I want to say these two words: ‘Madame President, ‘” Giffords said.

It was a bittersweet moment for Biden in more ways than one. The motion was loudly endorsed by all but several dozen reluctant Sanders supporters, who left the hall and groused loudly outside. And they quickly reiterated Tuesday that Clinton opposes the pending Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal, after longtime backer Terry McAuliffe suggested the contrary.

Her third challenge, on which much ink has been spilled, was to begin the task of reversing negative perceptions of her character-most important, that she can not be trusted-that have deepened during the course of the campaign at the hands of supporters of both Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump.
