The reports about Samsung Galaxy Note7’s battery catching on fire have been spreading throughout the last few days and Samsung quickly acknowledged the issue and said there is an ongoing investigation.
Customers’ reports of scorched phones prompted Samsung to conduct extra quality controlling tests and delay shipments of the Note 7s this week before the recall.

Earlier this week, the company delayed plans to ship the Galaxy Note 7 to many markets.

The sales halt will come as a blow to the electronics firm, which is in fierce competition with not only rival Apple, but also with up and coming makers that are offering smart devices for cheaper prices. She did not accept the compensation.
“If the exploded phone had burned near my head, I would not have been able to write this post”, she said in a popular online forum Thursday, where she shared a photo of the scorched Note 7 and described dousing the flames.
The phone was launched in Australia two weeks ago on August 19, retailing for $1,349. Samsung is discussing how to resolve the issue with Verizon and its other partners, the official told Yonhap. You can’t get your Galaxy Note 7 replaced just yet.
We noted that Samsung may possibly do a recall of the Note 7 due to battery issues. Sentiment recovered somewhat in Friday trade as the shares rose 0.6 percent compared with 0.3 percent in the broader market.
The announcement was made after Samsung shares closed in Korea.
According to Samsung, the phone has been launched in 10 countries so far but with different companies supplying the batteries. No injuries have been reported, the AP says. The latest news has the potential to dampen what has been a strong recovery in Samsung’s smartphone business over the past year.
