Funds to boost exports by local businesses

– New Hampshire has been approved for almost $200,000 in federal grant money to assist Granite State small businesses. By funding states and their export development partners, the SBA is delivering the tools and resources required for small businesses to launch their services and products overseas.

According to a release from the Governor’s Office, the program will help qualifying small businesses offset their costs of participation in export activities, including Development Office trade missions, worldwide trade shows and “Trade Winds” conferences.

Maria Contreras-Sweet, head of the agency, says options like business meetings overseas and global marketing can get expensive.

Slightly more than 300-Thousand dollars in federal money is being made available to small Nebraska businesses wishing to export. Second, it introduces … the ones that are already exporting … to additional markets.

The U.S. Small Business Administration announced the recipients of the latest round of State Trade and Export Promotion grant program Monday. “And third, it helps them grow their revenue and work force by entry into trade jobs that are higher paying”, Contreras-Sweet said in her remarks.

“One of the benefits of the program is the level of flexibility to tailor the award to best meet the needs of our clients here in New Hampshire”, Rose said.
