The report, by Francisco J. Diaz, further describes King – who was shot and killed by a Columbus, Ohio police officer, as standing only 5 foot tall and weighing under 100 pounds with a small frame.

Sen. Cecil Thomas, a Cincinnati Democrat and former police officer, said Tuesday the death of Tyre King is the latest showing the danger imitation firearms pose and urged parents to destroy such weapons.

The Franklin County Coroner’s Office has completed its autopsy on his body, but The Guardian reports that the office will not release the results for at least six weeks, pending a toxicology report. The head of the local police union says Mason did what he had to do in that situation. Diaz, acting as a consultant for the King family in this case, is a medical examiner in Wayne County, Michigan.

“I can only hope and wish that they take the time to understand that our children cannot keep dying at the hands of anyone – whether it’s police (or) regular street violence”, said Stacey Little, 31.

Authorities say the pending police investigation will be presented to a grand jury to decide whether charges are merited.

A defense attorney has raised concerns about the “prejudicial” effect of releasing the juvenile records of a 19-year-old robbery suspect linked to the OH boy who was shot fatally by Columbus police last week.

Columbus police arrested Braxton on a robbery charge Saturday. Braxton remained held without bond. She set a September 27 hearing.

In announcing Tyre’s funeral, his family said it “stands in solidarity” with others recently killed by police in North Carolina, Oklahoma and elsewhere.

Braxton told the newspaper that he ran away with Tyre, and police told them to get down. “One officer shot and struck the suspect multiple times”.

Columbus police have refused to comment on how Braxton’s recollection compares with officers’ accounts.
