Vanessa Marcotte, a 27-year-old Google account manager from New York City, was visiting her family for the weekend.
Hundreds of friends, family and co-workers gathered at Brandon Funeral Home on Monday evening for the wake of Vanessa Marcotte, who was killed on August 7 while out for a run near her mother’s home in Princeton.
Marcotte’s body was found August 7 in the woods near her mother’s home in the small town of Princeton, Massachusetts. “The headline story the entire world needs to see and read is the love that she lived every day of her life”, Rev. Dennis J.
Facing unanswered questions regarding Vanessa Marcotte’s death, family and friends shifted their focus to celebrating her life as she was laid to rest.
Investigators said her bruised body, which was riddled with scratch marks and cuts, showed signs of a struggle and they have been looking for a male suspect with similar marks. Her family asked that donations be made to Tutoring Plus of Cambridge, Inc., the Matt Light Foundation for Chrohn’s Disease, or the non-profit Harlem Grown in lieu of flowers.
She went out for a run at about 1 p.m. on August 7 and never came home. Since her death August 7, Massachusetts State Police have not made any arrests in spite of receiving more than 600 tips.
