They were among hundreds of people who attended a memorial service for Trooper Jaimie Jursevics (JAY’-me JUR’-zah-vicks) Monday in suburban Denver.

Inside the church, troopers in dress uniform stood beside her flag-draped casket in front of the altar. Now a picture of her in her mom’s Trooper’s hat is going viral as a reminder of the dangers of drinking and driving.

Trooper Jursevics, 33, was killed Sunday when Eric Henderson, a retired Army Colonel, hit her with his vehicle while she was investigating a separate crash.

Throughout Friday, both the State Patrol and Ralston Twitter accounts will use the hashtag #Play4Jaimie as an awareness and show of support for the her family, organizers say.

She is survived by her 8-month-old daughter and husband.

Jursevics was born in Burke, South Dakota and raised in Rapid City. “Upon graduation from the Colorado State Patrol academy, she was assigned to the Patrol’s Vail post”. “She was tenacious in the pursuit of justice and keeping others safe”.
