‘Furious 8’: F. Gary Gray confirms he will direct
With the tragic death of actor Paul Walker and the attractive ending of Furious 7, many expected that was the best way for the franchise to end. First up is F Gary Gray, who’s now riding high following the success of Straight Outta Compton. The rumors started from a picture posted by Vin Diesel, and even though there is little official information on that situation right now, fans immediately got very excited at the possibility.

Gray is coming off the hit NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton, and has previous with Diesel, having directed him in the action drama A Man Apart in 2003.
Star and producer Vin Diesel, who says he was offered the directing job, announced in late September that the Furious team would make one final trilogy.
Writing on Facebook Diesel said: “Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision… they have been like family…” “I believe that he can and would reset the franchise nicely, returning to what was the core of the film in the beginning… racing. #FastFamily”, director Gary Gray posted together with the photo of the release date which is on April 14, 2017. Indeed just prior to Universal’s confirmation earlier today, Gray was reportedly in the running to helm Black Panther for Disney, though the director has been given the keys to the former studio’s billion-dollar baby.
