Protesters march against presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, ahead of the Democratic National Convention, in Philadelphia July 24, 2016.
Clinton seeks to take in more revenue only by increasing taxes for the ultrawealthy – enacting a 4 percent surcharge on incomes over $5 million and raising certain capital gains rates.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chairperson of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), speaks during a campaign event for Hillary Clinton.
Yes, Hillary Clinton faces serious challenges as the Democratic convention begins today in Philadelphia.
“We’re looking at two very different people here at the top of the ticket running for POTUS, one that has a resume that is impeccable and full of experience and rational sound judgement versus someone who, it sounded like a joke in the beginning, but he’s done more damage just running for office, I can’t imagine if he were actually President”.
Celeste McKissick, a retired nurse from Amherst who drove to Philadelphia with Burk and two other friends, argued that Sanders could have won a fair primary contest.
Taylor Quinn, who at first identified herself only as sunny flower from “planet Earth”, said she was there “repping love”, because “the Earth needs love”. “I think he constitutes a real danger to the American form of Government”.
Wasserman Schultz, a member of Congress from south Florida, said her resignation will take effect upon the close of the convention. It could peak on Monday, the convention’s first day, with temperatures possibly hitting 100 degrees. Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist, has endorsed Clinton, but many of his supporters have not.
“I look forward to campaigning with Debbie in Florida and helping her in her re-election bid-because as President, I will need fighters like Debbie in Congress”, Clinton said. As in Cleveland, the marchers were shepherded by police in ordinary uniforms, including dozens of officers on bicycles.
Catherine Hernandez, a third-grade teacher at Toledo Public Schools and recording secretary for the Ohio Federation of Teachers, served as one of Ohio’s three Clinton representative on the platform committee in Orlando.
Sanders had called for Wasserman Schultz’s resignation, and said Sunday night she made the right decision for the party’s future by resigning.
Her abrupt ouster triggers a new race for leadership of the party that is likely to play out on the sidelines of the convention.
Maura Garin, a human resources administrator from Rocky River, who drove with Burk and McKissick, also said she would not vote for Clinton. “I think these emails reiterate the reason why she should not be chair”, Sanders stated.
Clinton arrives in Philadelphia with 2,814 delegates to Sanders’ 1,893, according to an Associated Press count.
Stein appeared to be the second choice of most of the marchers.
“I am not an atheist”, he said.
Asked if that wouldn’t help Trump win the election, Richard said, “Hillary can’t beat Trump”.
The Clinton campaign wants the focus on the list of seasoned politicians queuing up to shower her with praise at the convention. “At a time when OH is so critical – you can’t get to the White House without coming through OH – it’s important to have this base of folks say enough is enough”. “The DNC is owned and controlled by big donors and corporations”.
“I don’t take my marching orders from Bernie Sanders”. I’ve never ever done anything in politics before.

“Bernie stands for everything the people care about – health care, free schooling, jobs”. I like what he says and I’m appalled at what I’ve learned about the corruption in politics.
