(G20 Summit) Interview: Argentine expert hails China’s G20 agenda, efforts for action
The treatment meted out to President Obama is being seen by many as not only a sign of China’s growing defiance towards the United States but also growing “nationalist pride” across the country under President Xi Jinping.

Global economic growth has yet to recover to pre-crisis levels, hovering for years at around 3 percent.
In the face of weak demand, overcapacity, tendency towards protectionism, lack of confidence, market volatility and multiple political uncertainties, governments are eager to find a new way of stimulating growth.
Obama was asked at a news conference in China on Monday whether he intends to meet Duterte, as planned, at a gathering in Laos this week of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
On Monday, North Korea added to the drama by firing three ballistic missiles off its east coast.
In his address to the opening ceremony of the summit on Sunday, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that the G20 should be an “action team” rather than a “talk shop”, and he urged participating countries to ensure implementation of action plans on sustainable development, green finance, energy efficiency and combating corruption.
At about the same time, Xi was in Hangzhou telling his South Korean counterpart, Park Gyun-hye, that China opposes plans to deploy a USA anti-missile system in South Korea.
Chinese Government is said to have denied of diplomatic snub to Obama, who did not disembark from his aircraft on to a red-carpet-lined staircase, like other Worldleaders arriving for the G20.
Beijing promised in January to reduce steel production capacity by 100 to 150 million tons by 2020.
Facing the lingering global economic slump, the world’s 20 major economies ushered in a new opportunity for economic recovery Monday when they concluded a summit in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou.
With the summit taking place after Britain’s vote in June to exit the European Union and before the USA presidential election in November, observers expect G20 leaders to mount a defense of free trade and globalization and warn against isolationism.
“All these have showcased the strategic importance and global influence of Sino-US relations”, the Chinese president said.
“This discussion goes to the heart of how we build an economy that works for everyone”. It may well be time to re-examine the G20’s objective and, if necessary, recast its vision and mission entirely.

“Xi said that they wanted to look at how we could strengthen our trading and economic relationship and that China was open to a bilateral trade arrangement with the United Kingdom”, the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity said, reported Reuters.
