Galaxy Note 5 Gets Stylus Warning Because People Are Dumb
The warning label highlights the right and wrong ways to tuck the S Pen stylus into its holster.

Perhaps realising this is happening more often than suspected, Samsung is now warning users of the dangers of wrongly inserting the handy stylus (via Engadget). Stylus insertion was not a problem on previous editions of the Galaxy Note because Samsung made one end of the S Pen stylus larger than the other.
In August, several users reported that their S Pen was getting stuck inside the Galaxy Note 5 when inserted backwards. They do include improvements to battery life, security, and overall performance, though, all of which should make using the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge better overall.
The unfortunate design flaw could significantly reduce the functionality of an otherwise excellent device. The new warning label was first discovered via a YouTube video published by “J”.
The label appears directly above the screen, making it hard to miss. However, a lot of folks don’t read the user guide for their new phone, so many Note 5 owners probably never read the message.
The Note 5 earned praise for its prowess but soon enough users began reporting a flaw in the stylus design that left the S Pen jammed in its slot, affecting a few of the phone’s features.

While you’d expect any reasonable person to know which way it goes in, the concern was that when fumbling around in the dark, handing to a child or absentmindedly playing with the phone, it was too easy to mess up the device permanently (inserting the pen backwards provided no resistance). By covering the stuck pen with a strip of paper and wrapping it, sliding it into the holding bay around the stylus and subsequently, allowing the stylus to be removed safely.
