If you are a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 user residing in the United Kingdom you now have lots to cheer about as a fresh set of replacement Galaxy Note 7 handsets, which you can avail as replacement for your current devices, has arrived in the country. The whole battery fiasco is already costing company about $1 billion, according to a Bloomberg report and Samsung SDI shares have taken a beating, according to a report on Wall Street Journal.
Customers’ reports of scorched phones prompted Samsung to conduct extra quality controlling tests and delay shipments of the Note 7s this week before the recall.
Owners of the phone in Canada can exchange a recalled device for a new one of the same model. Instead, he stated that “What’s important is how our product is recognized by consumers”, taking the high road in pointing out the distinction of the V20, rather than playing it up as a viable alternative to the fallen Galaxy Note 7.
So far, at least 36 Galaxy Note 7 devices have exploded or burst into flames.
Samsung told reporters that it had shipped 2.5 million of the devices and confirmed 35 cases where these batteries explode either during or after charging normally. That said, a ban will immediately take effect, no questions asked, if Samsung does make an official recall, which is probably why the manufacturer isn’t so keen on doing so just yet.
The defect is said to only affect a small number of Note 7 devices.
It’s interesting to see what the company’s strategy will be after the recall ends. “Samsung has done well to be proactive at the early stages of product portfolio with whatever faulty samples it had at the time of recall”, added Pathak. “What’s important is how our product is recognized by consumers”, he said at the phone’s launch event held in Seoul on September 7. The Note 7 batteries have been exploding!

“The timing of the recall from competition perspective is crucial as iPhone 7 is set to debut this week”. Once submitted, says Samsung, you’ll be contacted within 48 hours.
