Galaxy Note 7 Shipments Getting Delayed Due to Quality Testing
Several outlets are reporting Samsung plans to recall the phones to replace the batteries rather than providing complainants with entirely new phones.

Amid claims of exploding batteries, Samsung has delayed shipments of its latest smartphone, the Galaxy Note 7, in order to conduct additional quality control testing.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 includes a stunning dual curved Super AMOLED 5.7 inch Quad HD display, which is credited as being the best ever found on any smartphone.
Samsung previously said demand for the latest Galaxy Note was far exceeding demand, creating a supply shortage and forcing the firm to delay the launch of the phone in some markets.
A photo revealed by the woman (Aug. 24) displayed a severely damaged phablet, with the phone showing signs of an explosion on the left side, the back unrecognizably melted, and the screen yellowed and partially burned black. Earlier this week Ariel Gonzalez posted a video of his exploded Note 7.
The phone, which launched in South Korea and other markets on August 19, retails at 988,900 won ($887.23) in South Korea.

According to Chosun Ilbo, the South Korean tech giant plans to recall around 400,000 Note 7 units sold in South Korea. No injuries have been reported.
It is unusual for Samsung to confirm a delay in sales of a device.

Exploding batteries isn’t something Samsung counted on with the release of its new product. News of delayed shipments of the Note 7 could deal a big blow to Samsung’s quarterly profits. Even though the company has not yet made an official statement, industry watchers say some defective batteries may have caused the explosions.
