Galaxy S7 rumored to come in two models

It is not yet know exactly when the Galaxy S7 will be announced or released, but if the launch of the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is any indication, it could likely be a few weeks before World Mobile Congress, which takes place February 22 to 25, 2016. Reportedly, the fingerprint sensor will have more uses in the Galaxy S7, as the company might be introducing a new store of their own, in support of Tizen.

Excellence, after all, does not come cheap and that seems to be the new mantra of Samsung after it redeemed itself from last year’s debacle with the Samsung Galaxy S5 with this year’s Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge that reinvigorated the market on its favor.

One of the pair of Galaxy S7 devices is rumored to have a flat display and the Exynos 8890 processor. The countries in which the Galaxy S7 will likely be available upon launch will include major markets like the United States, Canada, China, Europe and Korea.

Samsung’s next flagship phone, which we expect to be called the S7, will come in two different models, apparently. So, for now, we would suggest taking this report with a grain of salt. The flat device is the SM-G930 and the curved display device is the SM-G935. With that in mind, the Galaxy S7 should sport a Snapdragon 830 CPU in the global variant and a new Exynos octa SoC in the other variant which will most likely be exclusive to the U.S. The same breath of uncertainty can be said of the devices’ camera capabilities.

Note: The article has been edited to reflect that, according to the source, the two versions of Snapdragon 820 are powering two Samsung Galaxy S7 prototypes. Samsung might fit the devices with either a 20-megapixel ISOCELL sensor or a dual-sensor setup.

According to this graph, the Snapdragon 820 improved considerably throughout its journey, and is now able to yield over 70K points in AnTuTu (much like it was previously shown by the Samsung “Lucky” / Galaxy S7 benchmark).
